Tyler Scott

Tyler Scott earned his PhD in Public Policy and Management at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance in 2015. Dr. Scott is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Policy at the University of Georgia.
His topical research interests include environmental policy and natural resource management, collaborative management, water policy, public support for nonprofit organizations, and the use of decision tools such as benefit-cost analysis. He specializes in quantitative research; his areas of expertise include hierarchical models, Bayesian modeling, statistical network analysis, and spatio-temporal modeling. He has expertise in R and Python programming languages, and has earned certificates in Statistics in Social Science, Demography and Ecology, and Qualitative/Mixed Methods Research.
Tyler has conducted sponsored research for various public and nonprofit organizations, including the Puget Sound Partnership, Puget Sound Institute, William D. Ruckelshaus Center, University of Washington Office of State Relations, Hood Canal Coordinating Council, and Oregon Geospatial Enterprise Office.  He has also worked as an editorial assistant for the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and as a research associate on projects for the Gates Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.
Tyler has served as the lead instructor for Microeconomics and Public Policy (PBAF 499) and Quantitative Analysis I (PBAF 527). He has also served as a teaching assistant for Quantitative Analysis II (PBAF 528) with Dr. Ann Bostrom and co-instructor for Program Evaluation (PBAF 526) with Dr. Maureen Pirog and Grant Blume.
