Economics for Policy Analysis and Management I

MPA Core 4 cr.

Examines the use of microeconomics in policy analysis. Includes a review of supply, demand, and how government actions (e.g., taxes, subsidies) affects economic efficiency in a competitive market. Develops a deeper understanding of consumer choice as a function of preferences and constraints – the building blocks of demand – and examine how changes in constraints or opportunities via public policy affects choices.
